Sleepers

J.D. McKissic: McKissic has made some big plays as a change of pace back behind Antonio Gibson. He is getting points from his receptions and YAC yards. Gibson is banged up with a shin injury and their starting TE Logan Thomas to IR. This can allow McKissic to get a few more looks in the passing game and perhaps more carries to ease the load on Gibson. Should end up being a good flex play.

Trey Lance: I am never very high on rookie QB’s, I will 98% of the time never have them on my team. If you have QB’s with tough matchups, or not living up to their ADP, Lance could be a viable option if Jimmy Garapolo misses the game. Lance took over the second half last week and scored 20 points. He is a dangerous threat because he is a 4.4 40 quarterback on the ground. He also has a cannon for an arm. If he can reduce turnovers he could move into a mid-to-high QB1.

Busts

Melvin Gordon III: Gordon has been a pretty even split for carries with Javonte Williams. The rookie was expected to take over the lead-back role, but Gordon has managed to be slightly more efficient, but not much. Gordon goes up against the Steelers who have not allowed a rushing TD all year. Without a TD and splitting carries= Bust.

Brandon Cooks: Cooks has been the one bright spot on an otherwise dismal Texans team. However, this is the week to sit the receiver. The rookie QB Mills is coming off a 4 INT game last week and has a tougher matchup this week. Belichick is great at taking away the opposing team’s top player. Cooks is the only player in that category. JC Jackson is a shutdown corner and the Pats defense is one of the top ten in the league.
