TE Start/Sit

I will start this by prefacing that this is based on full PPR league scoring. I will also not include anyone that is drafted in the first round and most of the second round. If you need advice on starting Travis Kelce, I think you need more help than I can provide. So let’s get to it:

Start

Dalton Schultz: Schultz needs to dedicate all awards and congratulations to Micheal Gallup. After Gallup when down with injury Schultz was the primary beneficiary. He has 3 TDs and 7+ targets each of the last two weeks. The defenses still have to watch Cooper, Lamb, and Zeke out of the backfield which is giving Schultz the weaker cover guy. Dallas should put up some numbers against the Giants and Schultz should get 6+ catches and 70+ yards with a possible score.

Dawson Knox: Knox has started to become a must-start tight-end in a pass-friendly offense. He has 4 TDs in the last 3 weeks, and while he may come down to earth a little, it probably won’t be this week. The Bills face the Chiefs in what is expected to be a high-scoring game.

Sit

Kyle Pitts: The main problem with Pitts is that he was drafted by a lot of owners as a TE1. He is scoring as a TE2 that has become TD dependant. In fact, the one TE that caught a TD was Lee Smith (yeah you don’t really have to Google him). If the Pitt owners were lucky enough to have a second TE that is scoring in the top 15, it might be the better way to go until Matt Ryan figures out how to use his talents.

Robert Tonyan: Tonya burst onto the fantasy scene last year with 11 TDs. But like Peyton Hillis (He was on the Madden cover one time) he so far has not come even close to his breakout year. After four weeks you are likely to find him on the waiver wire. If you do have Tonyan, because you drafted him earlier and believe in Santa Claus, I would recommend sitting him and dropping him if he fails to produce again.
