This is the list of players that I am out on in fantasy football. It does not matter what their ADP is, or if they fall during a draft. This is different from the Bust list because a Bust list is players that are going to produce below their ADP and this list is players that I will not draft regardless of where they land in a draft. It is a combination of injury concerns or the team that they are playing for is not designed for them to succeed. Some of these players may never even see the field this year. This is the list of all kinds of NOPE.

1. Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts= Even before the contract talks, Taylor was on the Bust list. His relationship with the Colts has taken an ugly turn with both sides sending out aggressive Tweets to each other. Taylor wants a trade but has very little control over his contract situation. He could potentially sit out games on his own accord, but now the Colts have threatened to put him on the non-football injury (NRI) designation for an “injury” sustained away from camp. This would keep him out of the first six games and the Colts would not have to pay him his salary for those games. Taylor could also play had fake injuries so that he can miss games to upset ownership. Too many risks, all kinds of Nope.

2. J.K. Dobbins, Baltimore Ravens= A common issue with this list, Dobbins is very injury prone. When healthy he is the clear-cut starter for the Ravens, but the question is how many games will he play this year. Injuries have derailed Dobbins every year and he is now working out at training camp because of injuries and contract disputes. The contract dispute is an issue to adds to major injury concerns. The Ravens are unlikely to give in to his demands so there is a concern he might miss a game or two…..before he gets injured and misses more games Nope.

3. Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals= Even though he is coming off a season-ending injury, injuries have not been a huge concern over his career. The problem is that no one knows when he is going to come back from injury this year. The Cardinals do not look to be a very good team this year, in fact, they are projected to be the worst team and get next year’s #1 draft pick. The thought process is that they will draft a new franchise quarterback. If Murray is scheduled to come back midseason, and the Cardinals have lost most of the games, there is no really a reason to put Murray out there. If Murray is not traded this season, he will be by next year’s draft.

4. Trey Lance, San Francisco 49ers= You have to feel bad for this kid. The third pick in the draft a few years ago and now he is the 3rd quarterback on the 49ers. In his rookie season, he was behind Jimmy Garoppolo and last year he was injured at the beginning of the season last year and missed most of the season. Brock Purdy earned the starting job after last season, and they signed Sam Darnold, who apparently has done enough in camp to earn the 2nd string spot. A trade to a team where he would be the starter would add some intrigue, but outside of that Nope.

5. Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers = This has to do with productivity compared to usage. He was in the top five for touches last season. However, like his previous season, he failed to average more than four yards per carry. Last year he averaged 3.2 yards per carry. That is not going to fly, plus his background receiving has decreased. Last season Jaylen Warren looked far better as both a runner and receiver. Look for Warren to take at least half of the snaps by midseason. Warren is a Yup, Harris is a big Nope.

6. D’andre Swift, Philadelphia Eagles= Injuries have been a nagging issue the last couple of years, but nothing really serious. The issue is the limited usage that the Detroit Lions used Swift for in previous years. He is not a bellcow running back but is still pretty explosive. However, going to Philly was not in his best interest from a fantasy perspective. He will not get red zone touches, those will go to Rashaad Penny and Jalen Hurts. From all reports, Penny will be the 1st and 2nd down running back. Swift is going to be a 3rd down back and change-of-pace running back. Hurts also does not check down to the running back very often, limiting his receptions. Penny has a serious injury risk, but the Eagles are going to work as a running back by committee approach regardless of who is in the backfield.

7. Micheal Pittman Jr, Indianapolis Colts= Pittman has dealt with average quarterback play over his career. He has stayed healthy but has been a part of bad offenses. This year does not look a ton better. There will probably be a rookie quarterback starting who has accuracy issues. Last season with poor quarterback play Pittman did not break 1,000 yards and only scored 4 touchdowns. Their QB Anthony Richardson is a very talented rookie, but he is known more for his legs and rushing ability. Jonathan Taylor may be missing time due to contract disputes. The offense will probably be one of the worst offenses in the league.

8. Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints= Thomas is three years removed from one of the best wide receivers seasons ever. For the last two years, he has been sidelined with different foot injuries. Apparently, he is a full go at training camp. Injuries are a huge concern, but so is his age, he is turning 30 and has two seasons of barely any playing time. The number one receiver for the Saints is Chris Olave, and there will be competition for the #2 spot. Thomas could realistically be their WR 3 or 4. He is going late in drafts so if you want to throw a dart and pick him, fine, but that is a Nope for me.

9. Kadarius Toney, Kansas City Chiefs= This is a case of a player with a ton of talent but cannot stay on the field. Since entering the league, he has suffered multiple shoulder injuries, hamstring, ankle, leg quad, abdomen, thigh, and knee injuries. He has never made it through a regular season and barely makes it through half of the season. Already in training camp, he suffered an ankle injury, and his status is in doubt for week 1. The risk is far too high to draft Toney when there are far safer picks.
