Jalen Hurts & Dallas Goedert- Jalen Hurts is the biggest beneficiary of the A.J. Brown trade. Having two number-one receivers on both sides of the ball will make him a better player. In addition, his ability to run will move him up the boards on draft day cheat sheets. Dallas Goedert will be able to make more plays and TDs with Zack Ertz gone and defenses having to focus on Brown and Smith.
Jared Goff & Lion’s Offense- Jared Goff is a middle-of-the-road quarterback. The emergence of Amon St.Brown at the end of the season, and the draft of Jameson Williams who will be a part of the offense by October, will make Goff at least a decent quarterback option. Having a solid number one receiver improves the impact of Lion’s running game and the ability for St.Brown to increase his total points from last year, as well as T.J. Hockenson.
Marquis Brown- Brown may not be a number one receiver as he was labeled with the Ravens, but he is a solid number two on the Cardinals. The pressure of the defense covering him will decrease with having DeAndre Hopkins taking the focus off of him. With a similar skillset to Lamar Jackson, Brown should thrive in this offense.
Zack Miller- It’s hard to put a second-year quarterback on the hot seat, but the Jets have given Miller the tools to be a successful quarterback. The Jets drafted a true number one in Garret Wilson, and Elijah Moore can move up the rankings with defenses now focused on two primary receivers. If Miller fails to capitalize this year, his fantasy relevance will plummet. However, for now, he has the benefit of the doubt that he will become a complete quarterback.
Losers
Aaron Rodgers- The Green Bay Packers have an unusual perspective when it comes to Rodgers. They want to keep him, but they don’t want to give him any help….ever. Perhaps, it is a testament to his talent to make good receivers great, ala Tom Brady. One year they have the opportunity for a first-round receiver and choose a quarterback, once again after trading his number one target, they choose to pass on a receiver TWICE in the first round.
Lamar Jackson- Lamar Jackson, always a threat with his legs, apparently will be trading in passing yards for rushing yards this season. The Ravens traded away their number one receiver in Marquis Brown. Brown was inconsistent in his first couple of years but showed increases in his route running and receiving this last season. Rashod Batemon looks to benefit from this trade, he is now the number one receiver.
A.J. Brown- Brown’s quarterback Ryan Tannehill was never an elite quarterback, but he was consistent. Now Brown will be with a quarterback that has good rushing ability, but questionable passing accuracy. He will also be opposite last season’s number one in Philadelphia, Devonte Smith.
