I will start this by prefacing that this is based on full PPR league scoring. I will also not include anyone that is drafted in the first round and most of the second round. If you need advice on starting Derrick Henry, I think you need more help than I can provide. So let’s get to it:
Start
Saquan Barkley: Barkley has been a lottery ticket that everyone who drafted him has been holding onto, waiting for it to hit and to become rich. Hold onto that dream for a bit longer though, but not much. Each week his production has increased and the point total has gone up as he looks like he is regaining his form. He also happens to be one of the RB’s who does not have to share carries. Barkley should be considered a must-start for this week going forward. With Daniel Jones becoming a better starting QB the opposing defense can no longer stack the box. Against division foe Dallas, this week expect Barkley to finally hit the 100-yard mark.
Damien Williams: One of the top waiver-wire pickups this week Williams is a solid RB2 this week against the Raiders. I can see him getting 75+ and a touchdown this week. Last week was against the Lions….so….it wasn’t that hard to run all over them (Sorry Lions fans). He will get used throughout the game with a rookie QB who is struggling to learn the NFL offense and defensive game plans. He will be a good replacement but can be dropped once Montgomery returns in a couple of weeks.
Sit
D’Andre Swift/ Jamaal Williams: Unfortunately I have another bit of bad news for the Lions fans, regardless of the record they are diehard, the RB duo will be very limited. Their offensive line has been hit with injuries and their rookie OL Sewell is moving to a new position. Combine that with the Vikings offensive very likely to move the ball through the air and the ground the Lions will be passing more. Swift may have a small amount of value for his receptions but at most a low-end flex.
Chuba Hubbard: A popular waiver wire pick last week, he failed to really impress. There is a possibility that CMC will be back in the lineup in a limited capacity. Unlike last year when Mike Davis became a solid fill-in, the rookie Hubbard does not like he is ready for the primetime spotlight. I would advise dropping him for any of the many RBs on waivers that can make more of an impact.
