QB Rankings

These rankings are going to be updated throughout the offseason. There are many factors that go into the rankings before the season: injuries, draft, trades, and free agency. I will rank every position except kickers. Great job framing your team photo….and circling where you are kickers. (I kid kickers)

Quarterbacks

  1. Patrick Mahomes
  2. Josh Allen
  3. Lamar Jackson
  4. Kyler Murray
  5. Aaron Rodgers
  6. Russell Wilson *
  7. Justin Herbert
  8. Deshaun Watson *
  9. Matthew Stafford
  10. Dak Prescott *

* These quarterback ratings will change depending on what team they are on in the 2021 season. Watson will fall out of the top ten if he stays in Houston or goes to the Jets. He is very skilled but those two teams are not going to make his stats look good. Good receivers at best with the Jets, and new ownership and rebuild. Houston is a disaster and no QB is going to be good in that backfield.

Prescott either stays at the #10 position with Dallas and possibly moves up before the season starts. He also would move up a couple of spots if he were to land on say, the Seahawks. Wilson would also shift, more than likely down, if he were to go to another team.

Here is where the rankings change from other sites that has Aaron Rodgers ranked ahead of either or both Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. Mahomes is the undisputed number one and I feel Allen should be number two. Jackson had a dip in production from his MVP year but should bounce back as a top-three fantasy QB. Murray is only getting better and QB’s that can have points on the ground are becoming the top-tier QB’s to have. Rodgers is insanely skilled, for sure, but I feel his MVP year last year was fueled by rage that he was being viewed as being past his prime. I think he still has the potential to be a top-five QB.

The biggest difference between my top 10 and other analysts’ top 10, is that I have Stafford not only in it but at #9. I think he is one of the toughest QBs in the league and has a solid skillset. I think he is in the best system that he could have landed in. A QB smart coach, a great line, a very solid WR core, good running backs, and one of the top defenses in the league. Stafford is in a position that he does not have to be the one that wins the game like in Detroit. He does not have the running legs of other QBs in these rankings, but he will finish above other QBs that solely rely on throwing.
